Colour to Communities Competition
There is an opportunity for groups and communities to win 100L of free paint.
Paint Reuse Network, seeks to rescue surplus paint and bring it back into circulation. There is currently a national paint giveaway competition that the Paint Reuse Network is running. The competition aims to give 100 litres of paint to individuals and/or groups for improving community spaces.
We are seeking a winner in each Waste Region.
Local Enhancement Programme (LEP) 2024
Longford Local Community Development Committee (LCDC) invites online applications from community groups for grants to carry out necessary repairs & improvements to their facilities, and/or to purchase equipment under the Local Enhancement Programme (LEP) 2024.
Online applications must be completed by the chairperson, secretary or treasurer of the community group.
THREE separate quotations must be uploaded with the online application. Otherwise, it will be deemed INCOMPLETE and will not be considered for funding.
Closing date for submission of online applications and uploaded supporting documentation is by 4pm on Wednesday, 27 March 2024.
Late applications will NOT be accepted.

Are you a Climate Hero?
Climate Heroes is a good-natured, carbon-saving competition from Global Action Plan. Between the 15th and 26th of April, all kinds of community groups across Ireland will log planet-friendly actions and compete to have the biggest carbon footprint reduction. Weekly webinars in the run-up will shine a light on the big picture and offer a space for knowledge-sharing and connection. Participation is free. Sports Bursary 2024
Longford County Council, through Longford Sports Partnership is pleased to announce that the Longford County Council Sports Bursary is now open for applications. The County Council has allocated funding towards this bursary. It is awarded to individual sportspeople who have shown ability in their sport and possess the potential to achieve excellence at national and international levels.
Applicants from any sporting field must be born or domiciled in County Longford. The award assists in the cost of education, training, travel and equipment. It will normally be made to those over 16 years of age, however, exceptions to this may be made in the case where a person is competing at national, international or equivalent level, as determined by the chosen sport.
The closing date for applications is Monday, 4 March at 5pm.

GOAL Mile Information
The GOAL Mile is a wonderful event, suitable for all ages and abilities! We are hoping to increase the number of people organising and participating in a Mile this year. While most GOAL Miles take place on Christmas Day, a Mile can be organised any time in December.
This year has been particularly challenging with climate disasters and conflict leaving over 100 million people displaced. All funds raised through the GOAL Mile will be used to support GOAL’s work around the world (from East Africa to Palestine).
